This was another very challenging hike to fish excursion. The wind was whipping at the start of the day, which made casting incredibly difficult for me, and totally blew my confidence. Just another experience where my poor casting limited my opportunities to catch fish - VERY FRUSTRATING! With that said, it was my first time visiting a station (NZ word for ranch). There were tons on beautiful NZ sheep, cattle, and red deer! It was a very exciting experience, plus I got to bust out a sleeping bag (it's been awhile)…so the evening was spent around the woodburning stove with great food cooked by the guide and great company…and a lot of giggling like I was at summer camp!
